It's a double trap!

Some AWI using A Gentleman's War rules.

28mm Perry and Front Rank from Dan and my collection.

In this scenario the British have to get their supply cart across the table by the road.   The blasted rebels have to steal it.

On the first and second joker, a unit of cavalry appears on the flanking road, red for British,  black for American.

Start at bottom:

16.  But the American cavalry is faster and catches up, seizing the prize, and the victory!
15. The 2 infantry lines blaze away at each other, whittled each other down.  The supply cart makes a break for the table edge.
14.  They are rebuffed, but without significant loss.
13. They charge into the British line.  A desperate move.

It's another trap!
12.  But what's this?!  The American joker comes up, and a unit of Light Cav appears on the road behind the British!
11. Just like that the cavalry have swept out the pesky militia line.  Now only 2 units of Continentals stand in the way.
It's a trap!
10. The first militia run off, leaving the next unit to be hit by the charge.
9. They bypass the Continentals and aim for the "timid" militia who need to test morale to face their charge.
8.  First joker is British.   Tarleton and his legion enter the table on the Americans rear flank.
7.  Rifleman harass the column from the flanks
6. The steady US Continentals appear as the final hurdle.
5. More Americans move in to block the road.
4. Flanking unit of Jagers blunder into a hidden unit of Americans.  They lose the melee and run off.
3. The column quickly moves into contact with the road block
2.  The British column starts on the road

1.  The Americans start hidden, with only 1 unit of militia blocking the road as bait.

Van Gogh Away

 Fireball Forward 15mm ww2

Nuenen

14. Turn 5, US had 7 of the 8 buildings.
A scene from earlier in the game where the Sherman drew the Panther shot in a sacrifice move.
13. Bazooka and Stug trade misses.
12.  US 1st platoon managed to rally off their broken status and secure the 1st building.
11.  The broken Stug backs away from the Sherman.
10.  2nd US platoon goes around the right flank, bazooka gets a rear shot on the stug.
9. The Stugs come into the fight.  The Sherman takes opportunity and gets a breaking hit, about as lucky as it could get vs its tough front armor.   2nd Stug comes around and shoots at the Sherman,  it goes wide.
8. MG team broken and then destroyed,  3rd platoon takes the 3rd building.
7.  I moved 1 Sherman up the road to draw its fire.   The Panther easily destroyed it.   Now to make the sacrifice worth it  - the firefly slow moved west off the road, managed not to bog in the gully, and got its shot off.  A hit!  But the Panther's armor saved it.   Next turn the US got initiative first and the firefly shot again.  This time the cat wasn't so lucky.
6. That haystack turns out to be a hidden Panther!
5. Turn 2 the German counter attack begins.  It starts off looking bad with 2 US squads broken.
4. US flanks around the right, and captured 1st building.
3. Somewhere ahead the Germans have 2 MG teams and a sniper, but they don't expose themselves 1st turn.

2. 101st Airborne deploy in the gullies along the road into Nuenen.

1. Scenario from FbF Io group.  My map is flipped left to right since that matches my battle map roads better.
