Some AWI using A Gentleman's War rules.
28mm Perry and Front Rank from Dan and my collection.
In this scenario the British have to get their supply cart across the table by the road. The blasted rebels have to steal it.
On the first and second joker, a unit of cavalry appears on the flanking road, red for British, black for American.
Start at bottom:
16. But the American cavalry is faster and catches up, seizing the prize, and the victory!15. The 2 infantry lines blaze away at each other, whittled each other down. The supply cart makes a break for the table edge.
14. They are rebuffed, but without significant loss.
13. They charge into the British line. A desperate move.
It's another trap!
12. But what's this?! The American joker comes up, and a unit of Light Cav appears on the road behind the British!
11. Just like that the cavalry have swept out the pesky militia line. Now only 2 units of Continentals stand in the way.
It's a trap!
10. The first militia run off, leaving the next unit to be hit by the charge.
9. They bypass the Continentals and aim for the "timid" militia who need to test morale to face their charge.
8. First joker is British. Tarleton and his legion enter the table on the Americans rear flank.
7. Rifleman harass the column from the flanks
6. The steady US Continentals appear as the final hurdle.
5. More Americans move in to block the road.
4. Flanking unit of Jagers blunder into a hidden unit of Americans. They lose the melee and run off.
3. The column quickly moves into contact with the road block
2. The British column starts on the road
1. The Americans start hidden, with only 1 unit of militia blocking the road as bait.
